MADRIGAL SINGERSLHS Madrigal Singers, or "Mads", was established in 1972. Regionally recognized for musical excellence, this chamber ensemble often acts as ambassadors for the high school choral program. In 2012, Mads celebrated their 40th anniversary season with a commission of "To Music" by American choral composer, Nathan Jones. Their 2012 performance of Estonian choral music for the Honorary Consul of Estonia was hailed as "extraordinary," earning the ensemble a special invitation to perform for the Estonian Ambassador in Washington, D.C. Madrigal Singers have been featured numerous times at the Massachusetts All-State Conference, and they collaborate regularly with a variety of musical ensembles, including New England's WildFire Band and renowned fiddler, Eileen Ivers. LHS Madrigal Singers were the winners of the high school category and overall winners of WGBH's "Sing That Thing!" ArchivesCategories |
